Botswana – End of state of emergency

25 Mai, 2020

The designated operator of Botswana, Botswana Postal Services (BotswanaPost), would like to inform other Union member countries and their designated operators that the government ended the national lockdown on 20 May 2020 and reopened the economy, with extensive precautions designed to control the spread of COVID-19.

Delivery post offices have now reopened for full operations from Monday to Saturday.

Most partner airlines have not yet resumed the conveyance of outbound international mail, but BotswanaPost is accepting inbound mail and delivering it in compliance with government-mandated measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19. However, owing to limited capacity, BotswanaPost is still not able to guarantee delivery standards. The force majeure situation previously announced therefore continues until further notice.

BotswanaPost thanks all Union member countries and their designated operators for their understanding
